• I’m currently a tenure-track assistant professor at EduHK at AEDI under the strategic area of new media and social media. I was a visiting scholar at Penn state university under professor Shyam Sundar doing AI research. I acquired my PhD&MPhil (Comm) at Chinese U of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, my MA degree (digital asset and media management) at King’s College London, London, and BA (in journalism) at Jinan University, Guangzhou, China. 

• I worked/interned previously in Southern Weekly, China News Service, Hunan Broadcasting System, and Global Times. I used to be a freelancer writer for news agencies for Southern Weekly, China Education Daily, China Youth Daily and etc. The topic related to Smartphone usage, Social media usage, Education, and personal travel notes, receiving more than one million clicks from the internet. 

• My research focus is social and psychological aspects of emerging media technologies including mobile media, social media and HCI. I specifically pay attention to social media curation, algorithmic and affect. Please let me know if you have any questions about me :) bwu@eduhk.hk
